"I have always enjoyed making things. Throughout my life, my family has encouraged my involvement in art. My mother taught me to sew when I was very young, and put me in art classes at the age of 9. After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2002 with a B.F.A. in painting, I worked as a faux finisher until the end of 2005. I decided to turn my hobbies into a line of products, and now I make purses, greeting cards and gifts from my home in Atlanta." —Kate Thurman
