Alison Bear received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Metals and Jewelry from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2009. Alison Bear’s work is whimsical in nature, drawing inspiration from by-gone eras, fiber arts, as well as found objects. By incorporating these found objects into her work, she gives them a second chance and breathes new life into fabrics and vintage glass buttons, while paying homage to past forms of jewelry such as the cameo. She enjoys to continuously finding new and different pieces to incorporate in her work. She feels that jewelry is a portable piece of art and should be an extension and expression of oneself in addition to being an adornment for the body. Alison Bear wishes that everyone who wears a piece of her work to feel the joy from her work that she experienced while creating it. Alison Bear currently creates her work from her home in the North Georgia Mountains.
