Heralding from Queens, N.Y., Anissa Dawn Manzo moved to Savannah in 1998 to pursue her M.F.A. at the Savannah College of Art and Design. After selling her local coffee shop and boutique, directly inspired by the French boulangeries and cafés of old, she spent a summer living in Paris. When she is not capturing beauty, light and lines with her camera, Manzo works as a freelance graphic designer and language tutor. rn“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.” (Ernest Hemmingway)rn"I can attest to the truth of Hemmingway’s statement. The camera in my hand was like a net capturing butterflies. Everywhere I turned there was something screaming to be taken. Let the tourists have their photos of Notre Dame, she is, indeed, a great lady, but give me the corners of back alleys, the light in a not-so-noticed flea market stand (et je suis tres contente.) Angles, reflections and textures — truly Paris is the “City of Lights,” a haven and feast for starving artists and poets alike and I walked away pleasantly full."—Anissa Manzo
