Rooted in a mix of middle-class Americana and a sense of nostalgia for scenes and places from his childhood, Dan Saelinger’s photography is inspired from growing up in a small central Pennsylvania town. 1980s television, Nintendo, and trips to Kmart left a yearning to create visual stimulation, and elements of this rural suburban culture would later resurface in the locations, subjects and objects in his work. Saelinger lives in New York City where he shoots for a variety of magazine and advertising clients as well as continues fine art pursuits. He is represented by the Clare Agency. He holds an M.F.A. degree in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and earned a B.F.A. degree in photography from The Pennsylvania State University with honors in photography and graphic design.
