Jared Jaffe was born in Philadelphia, in 1969 and currently resides in Savannah, Ga. Jaffe graduated from the University of the Arts in 1991 with a B.F.A., and received his M.F.A. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is a professor of foundation studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has exhibited extensively both locally and nationally, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, The Baltimore ACC Craft Fair and the New York International Gift Fair. He was the former shop technical assistant at the University of the Arts, a production potter and the assistant manager of the Philadelphia Pottery Supply. His work is in the collection of the Racine Art Museum as well as numerous private collectors. Articles about Jaffe’s work have been published in USA Today, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The Philadelphia Inquirer, American Craft, Ceramics Monthly and several hardcover books including “The Best of Pottery I & II” and “Object Lessons.”
