"My recent paintings are centered on landscapes, people, musings on fashion, culture, social graces, or lack thereof, folks in general, contemporary Savannah urban (and rural) legend and more. As usual, I am interested in the ability of painting and drawing to offer some alternative to photo, video and digital media in terms of the documentation, and thereby, some preservation of people and place, set within the current timeline…plus, I love a good story and repeating it as if I heard it through a styrofoam cup."rn—Katherine SandozrnIn a small bungalow built in 1931 by John Gatch, Sandoz lives with her cowboy and husband, (the real) Hunter Dan, and their two dogs, Cooper and "Little Man" Kirby. When she’s not drawing and painting, Sandoz can be found riding her John Deere, moving plants, swimming in the Vernon River, or generally, conducting projects galore.
