“Born and raised in eastern Iowa, I moved to Savannah, Ga., and received a B.F.A. in metals and jewelry from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2003. I reside in Atlanta: Complex structures and organic shapes influence the foundation of my work. These ideas take shape through simple mechanisms and precise lines. The process for my work is very methodical and painstaking. This allows me to view all possibilities with my work.rn With my current work detailed concepts are secondary, structure and design take precedence. By cutting out conceptual pre-production my process allows me to be free from any restriciting ideas created by a concept. The making of a piece stems from a simple idea realized during its creation. This process has been rewarding and has allowed me to to continue to enjoy making jewelry. My goal is to create jewelry that can convey its own message without words.”
