Lance Tankersley graduated from SCAD in 1998 with a B.F.A .in computer art and video/film production. Years after collecting and admiring Mid-century Modern and retro space age furniture and lighting, he began shifting from collector to builder. “Most of my pieces come to fruition because of the innate need to create, which in turn leads to deciding what type of piece I need for my living space. When I needed a lamp for my den, the Verv Lamp was born; I needed a coffee table for my apartment and the Tron Table was born; I needed a desk and the Verv Desk was born. Now that my living space is full, I have begun to produce and sell my rnpieces.”Tankersley’s designs have been featured in design publications and on HGTV. He is the Director of The Omnisphere Theater, a premier digital planetarium, at The Coca-Cola Space Science Center where he heads up show production and designs/builds interactive exhibitions.
