Originally from Michigan, Michael Hubbard journeyed south to Savannah and graduated from SCAD with a BFA in Painting in 2009. He went on to pursue an MFA at Washington State University, and currently teaches painting at Midland College in Midland, Texas.  His paintings blend together diverse references through the juxtaposition of imagery appropriated form art history and popular culture.  He is fascinated by painting’s ability to be both object and image, tactile and ephemeral, simultaneously.
