Michael Porten earned a B.F.A. in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2004 and earned his M.F.A. in painting from SCAD in 2011. Porten has had recent solo exhibitions at Hall Street Gallery, Savannah, Georgia, 2008; and Galeries de l’Olivier, Lacoste, France, 2009. His work has also been included in recent group exhibitions at Late Show Gallery, Kansas City, Missouri, 2008; Miami Art Basel Satellite Fair (ARTery Art Fair), Miami, Florida, 2009; and SCAD Gallery, Hong Kong, 2010. Porten’s work was recently featured in the 88th edition of “New American Paintings,” the acclaimed juried exhibition-in-print journal.
