Originally from Kingsport, Tenn., Scott Griffin graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with B.F.A. in painting in 1992. His latest work reveals his deeper understanding of the life force that he finds so fascinating and explores a more sophisticated approach representing that ineffable energy. Griffin is fascinated by the life force that unites Earth’s flora and fauna in a common bond, transcending both time and space. In his recent work he creates vivid three-dimensional visions of imaginary spaces defined by a rich profusion of life. Griffin strategically layers paintings and photo collage inspired by his recent travels to the Cloud Forest in Peru and Eastern Europe, using clear polyester resin, paint and iridescent pigments to map intricate, exotic botanical scenes.
