Yoshimi Hosoda is an interior designer who hails from Saitama, Japan. She earned her interior design degree at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Through her career, she noticed that there was a need for new and innovative accessories to complete a modern interior. She has been making pottery for new design trends since 2001 Hosoda’s ceramic works are defined by classic forms with minimalistic details. Shei has an appreciation for the useful functional quality in the finished product; be it bowls, vases, serving plates or vessels, the decorative quality of the work makes the functional secondary to the beauty of the piece as an objet d’art. Her work expresses a thoughtful appreciation of the classic form along with delicate movement, less is more. The refined graphic features in her reversed repose work are a trademark of her finished glaze detail. Her ability to maintain simplicity with the subject matter is completely refined in this piece with a minimalist graphic representation.
