How can I place an order?

Order online: Order directly from any product page on our Web site by simply selecting the quantity of the products you wish to purchase and clicking on the “Add to Cart” button.

How do I order online as a returning customer?

Easy! As a returning customer simply log in with your set username and password. All of your shipping information has been saved in our system and will facilitate a faster checkout time for you.

How do I know if my online order went through and you received it?

Online orders should receive an automatic confirmation by e-mail. If you do not receive this confirmation it is likely that it was caught in SPAM. Please send an e-mail inquiry or call 912.525.5180 to ensure your order was received.

I interrupted my online order, was my data saved?

No, nothing will be saved until you select “submit order.”

Will I receive an order confirmation?

Yes, an automatic receipt confirmation will be sent to your e-mail address. If there is any problem with fulfilling your order you will be contacted by a shopSCAD representative via e-mail or phone.

How can I check on the status of my order?

You may call 912.525.5180 or e-mail shopSCAD to ask for tracking information.

What if I need to add something to an order I just placed?

You may send an e-mail noting your order number and name with the request or call 912.525.5180 to add the additional items.

Will I be notified if items in my order are not in stock or available?

Yes. Although we do our best to keep the online offerings current there may be times when an item has sold in one of our shops or is no longer available. We will let you know of any problems with your order as soon as possible.

Do I have to create an account to order online?

No, you can also place your order as a guest on our site. However, creating an account on our site has the following benefits: save your address book of shipping addresses of your friends and family; store your personal billing information; your selections will be saved in your shopping basket; and create your own “wish list.”

How long does it take to receive my order?

ShopSCAD ships most packages through FedEx; typically you can expect your package to arrive within 6-10 days depending on your location. ShopSCAD has a 48-hour processing time and the shipping department is closed on the weekends. Orders received after 12 p.m. will be processed on the next business day. We do offer expedited shipping options of Next Day, 2nd Day, Three Day Select and Saturday delivery. If you have an immediate need, call us at 912.525.5180 and we will do our very best to get your package to you as quickly as possible. International shipping is available: e-mail shopSCAD or call 912.525.5180 for a quote. International shipping cannot be expedited and could take as long as two weeks.

How can I cancel an order?

If you need to cancel your order, simply e-mail shopSCAD or call 912.525.6304. Include your name, phone number, order number and date of purchase. We may ask you to verify your credit card number over the phone so that you may be properly credited. Orders may not be cancelled after two business days, as the order will have shipped.

What if I am having trouble ordering from your site?

Call us at 912.525.5180 and let us help you in person. We want your shopping experience with us to be a positive one and free from any stress.

What should I do if I get a technical error message?

Please let us know that you are receiving this error message and we will contact our webmaster to address the situation. Until the error is resolved you may place an order by e-mailing your request or calling 912.525.5180.

Can I opt for signature delivery?

Yes, you can opt for signature delivery. It is recommended for fine art purchases or other high value items that may risk being stolen if left unattended. Please choose the signature delivery option in the shipping section of your order process.

Will packages be left without my signature automatically?

Yes, FedEx will leave your packages without signature delivery. Please give instructions in the comments section of your order if you would like them to leave your packages with a neighbor or somewhere specific.

Can I have an order shipped to a P.O. Box?

We use FedEx to ship most of our packages and they do not send to post office boxes. If you do not have a street address to which your order can be sent, e-mail shopSCAD or call 912.525.5180 to make other shipping arrangements.

Do you charge shipping for gift certificates?

No, we offer complimentary shipping on gift certificates.

Can I place my order today but have shipping delayed?

Sure, just note in the order comments section your preferred ship date and we will happily oblige your request.

Help! I gave you an incorrect address! How can I change the delivery address?

Don’t worry! Just send us a follow-up e-mail to let us know the correct address.

Can I enter different billing and shipping addresses? What about shipping to multiple addresses?

Yes. Simply select “Ship items in this order to more than one address” in the “Shipping Options” section of the checkout process. As a registered user, you can select addresses from your address book or add a new address.

I live outside of the United States. May I still buy items from shopSCAD?

Yes. Since 2003 shopSCAD has shipped fine art and designs all over the world! Please e-mail shopSCAD or call 912.525.6304 for shipping and delivery time quote.

What if I don’t like something and want to return it?

All items other than fine art may be returned to the shop within 30 days for refund of the purchase price. Fine art is non-returnable for a refund or store credit. Shipping charges will not be refunded.

Do you accept returns on fine art?

Fine art is non-returnable for a refund or store credit. This is a firm policy. Please feel free to e-mail shopSCAD or call 912.525.5180 with any questions you may have about the work we carry before ordering. Many times we can provide much more detailed information and additional images than what is included on the Web site. We want you to find the perfect piece and be happy with it for many years to come.

How long do I have before I can return an item?

We allow returns within 30 days of purchase for a refund or exchange.

Can I buy items online and return them in one of the shops?

Yes, you can return the items you buy online at any shopSCAD location. You should print out a copy of your online order confirmation receipt to take with the return.

What if my item is damaged or breaks in transit?

We carefully package all shipments sent from shopSCAD and have them insured for their full value. We will gladly accept any damaged or broken item(s) back and either refund your purchase or send a replacement as soon as possible.

I received a product that I didn’t order, or my order was incorrect or damaged. How do I get a refund or replacement?

Despite our best efforts to carefully package each shipment there will always be the rare mishap that an order will arrive damaged or an incorrect item will arrive. Please let us know immediately by e-mail or phone at 912.525.5180.  We will work with you to remedy the situation to your desired outcome.

I lost one of my earrings, can another one be made?

Sure thing! If the artist still has the materials we will make it happen. We have done this many times for customers who contact us heartbroken that their favorite pair is now just one. In order to facilitate this process please send an image and description to shopSCAD. We will only charge you the artist’s replacement cost of one piece plus any shipping fees that are incurred.

Does shopSCAD repair jewelry?

Yes, we ask our jewelry and metals artists to repair their work if needed. A small charge may be necessary if it is determined that the item was not cared for properly.

What payment options are available?

Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted online. We accept personal and travelers checks, money orders and the SCAD Card in our shops. Gift certificates are also redeemable online or in the shops.

Are gift certificates redeemable online?

Yes, they are.

Can I redeem part of my gift certificate and retain the balance to be used on a future order?

Yes, you may do this.

Does shopSCAD offer layaway?

Yes, shopSCAD does offer the option of layaway in the shops but not online. If you are not located near one of our shops and would like to have this option please call 912.525.5180 and we will work something out with you.

What are the terms of layaway?

Layaway is a beautiful thing! It is an interest-free way to pay for a purchase that may be just a bit too much all at once. We love to offer this to our customers as a way to acquire a much-loved piece that seems out of reach. Here are the terms of the deal: a non-refundable deposit of 20 percent of the total purchase price is required for layaway purchases. The layaway must be paid in full within six to 12 months. There are no returns or exchanges accepted on layaway purchases. The item on layaway remains in the shop storage until it is paid for in full.

What is this charge on my statement?

If you have a billing question please e-mail shopSCAD or call 912.525.5180 with your concern and we will address it with the upmost urgency.

Will I be charged sales tax?

You will only be charged sales tax if you live in the state of Georgia. If you believe that some error has occurred and that sales tax was charged please e-mail shopSCAD or call 912.525.5180.

Does the price displayed include tax?

No, the retail price online or in the shops does not include tax or shipping charges that may apply.

What data can I find in “my account”?

Your account will give you access to information such as a previously used shipping address, contact information, saved credit card information, username and password.

What if I have forgotten my password or username?

If you forget your password, or need to modify or update information in your account (such as adding a new shipping destination or changing your credit card info), browse to the “My Account” section, and click the “Forgot Your Password?” link. When the “Forgot Your Password?” page appears, type-in the e-mail address you used to create your account, and we will send you an e-mail with a new password that you can later change.

Do I have to create an account to order online?

Yes, we do. We will wrap all gift purchases using natural boxes accentuated with pretty ribbon and the signature shopSCAD logo sticker. If you would like them to be packaged in a more traditional way we offer a lime green damask wrapping paper with contrasting ribbon.

Can I write a personal message?

Of course! Please fill in the section under your order that offers the option for a personal message. This message will be placed on a card and included with your gift.

How do gift certificates work?

Gift certificates may be purchased and redeemed online or in one of our shop locations. For online purchases simply enter the gift certificate number, and for in-store purchases we request that the actual card be presented.

I am looking for a specific item not shown on your online shop. Can you help me find it?

Yes, please e-mail shopSCAD or call 912.525.5180 and provide a detailed description of the item, including where you saw it, and we will do our very best to locate it or have something similar created per your specifications.

Does shopSCAD use recycled packaging materials?

ShopSCAD has a goal of using 100 percent recycled packaging but currently we are not there yet. However, most of our shipments are packed and cushioned with shredded paper that is produced from all over the college. This has saved us from having to use a tremendous amount of packaging peanuts and repurpose something in a positive way.

Are prices the same online as in the shops?

Yes, the prices online should be the same as they are in the shops. If you notice any discrepancy please let us know and we will honor the lower price.

How can I learn about new products and promotions?

The best way to learn about new products and promotions is to sign up for our mailing list. This will enable you to receive our monthly newsletter, e-vites to special events and coupon or sale notifications.

How do I submit a product idea to shopSCAD?

We are always interested in hearing your ideas and translating them into being in our shop offerings if possible. Please e-mail shopSCAD Director Amy Zurcher with your idea. Can I have products customized?

Yes, many of our products can be personalized per your specifications. If a product is set up for this online you will notice in the item description an option for customization. If you find a product that does not and think it should please e-mail us with your request and we will do our best to accommodate this if possible.

Is it possible to get autographed copies of books I purchase online?

All of our books are written or illustrated by SCAD authors. Many times we have autographed copies in stock or can make arrangements to secure one for you. If you are interested in this option please note your request in the comments section when placing an order.

What is shopSCAD?

ShopSCAD is an artistic lifestyle boutique that exclusively features the artwork and designs created by Savannah College of Art and Design artists. The development of a more informal gallery space and retail store was the conception of SCAD President Paula S. Wallace. Her idea was placed in the hands of shopSCAD Director Amy Zurcher (Ball State University, B.A., fashion design and merchandising, marketing) and SCAD alumna Katie Runnels (M.F.A., painting, 2003), who put their backgrounds together for the creation of shopSCAD. The original store in Savannah opened Nov. 1, 2003, with a rare and original collection of handmade wares and artistic creations all furnished by an enormously talented but yet-to-be discovered group of SCAD artists. Submissions were encouraged from all of the various artistic fields that the college offers. What resulted is an eclectic and innovative mix of art, artful products and design, most of which can only be found at shopSCAD! The most sought-after items include jewelry, paintings, handbags, pottery and handmade books. Visitors are encouraged to stop by often as new work is accepted on a daily basis. The creative interior design of the store and its use of ever-changing and unconventional displays also lends to the singularity that makes shopSCAD a magical place to shop or simply find inspiration.

Why do your prices seem higher than some stores?

Many of the products featured in shopSCAD are one-of-a-kind or limited production pieces that require extensive time and ability to produce. A large amount of our artists do not have the cost-reducing benefits of mass production and wholesale materials. We do our best to provide amazing work at the fairest price possible while still compensating the artists who create them.

May I contact artists represented on your site?

ShopSCAD does not give artist contact information but is happy to work with the artists on your behalf with any special requests or commissions you may have.

How can I apply for a job with shopSCAD?

How secure is the ordering process?

We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you provide to us for purchasing of our products or services. We reveal only the last five digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.
