Megan Proctor

Sea+Stone is a line of fine and semi-precious jewelry by Florida native, Megan Proctor. Megan began making gemstone jewelry as a teenager, and followed her passion to the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she earned her B.F.A. in Metals and Jewelry. She interned as a watch designer for Fossil, then relocated to NYC, where she worked as a costume jewelry designer for Coach, and later as a fine jewelry designer at Alexis Bittar.

On nights and weekends, Megan studied diamonds and colored stones at The Gemological Institute of America. After receiving her Graduate Gemologist Diploma, Megan decided to leave the corporate world behind, fly South, and launch her own jewelry business. Her line, SEA+STONE®, is named after her two sources of inspiration.

SEA+STONE®, based in Southern Pines, NC, is primarily known for their collection of small-batch semiprecious jewelry. Each piece of jewelry is handmade with handpicked, natural gemstones and sterling silver/vermeil metal. All of the beaded necklaces are knotted by hand, in the same method that a fine pearl necklace would be.
